Waste Connections of Canada is currently seeking a Welder to join their team in Kingston, ON. The primary responsibility of this role is to refurbish and repair Front End and Roll-Off containers. The company is looking for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys working on a variety of tasks and is willing to learn new skills under direction. The ideal candidate should have experience in fabricating and welding using MIG, TIG, and ARC techniques in various positions.

In addition to container refurbishment and repair, the Welder will also work closely with a team of truck mechanics. Occasionally, they may assist the mechanics with light repairs and rebuilds of compactors and other equipment.

This position offers an immediate opening for a qualified individual who is ready to contribute their welding expertise to Waste Connections of Canada’s operations in Kingston, ON. The role involves a diverse range of tasks and the opportunity to work with a supportive team.

Location: 1150 Gardiners Road Kingston, ON

Pay rate: $26.74/hr.

Shift: Monday – Friday 3 pm – 12:30 am

Requirements:

To be considered for the position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Safety minded individual
• Able to weld MIG, ARC, and TIG
• Painting of bins is a requirement
• Able to work independently
• Takes pride in doing a great job
• Must be able to lift 50 LBS
• Work well with others in a fast passed shop environment
• Able to weld up hand
• Able to work overtime when needed
• Able to fabricate
• Able to run an overhead crane is an asset
• Forklift operator certified is an asset
